These pieces were all made from recordings of one person (the artist) walking back and forth in a studio. In each piece, several recordings have been mixed together to create the illusion that there are many people walking at once, to aurally create the effect of a crowd. The variations are intended to evoke different types of crowds but they also allow for the listener to imagine other movements. The rhythm of the many footsteps may evoke the sound of drumming, of falling rain, or the rustling of leaves.
